Ahara &
Agni

Merging the wisdom of Ayurvedic Dietetics with the precision of Public Health Nutrition.

The Gut is the Second Brain

In Ayurveda, all disease begins in the gut (Pakwashaya). Modern science agrees: the Enteric Nervous System produces 95% of your serotonin.

Drawing from my certification in Public Health Nutrition and my background in Ayurveda Biology, I design meal plans that do more than count calories. We optimize your Agni (metabolic fire) to ensure that what you eat is actually transformed into Ojas (vitality) rather than Ama (toxins).

The 13 Fires of Digestion

In Ayurveda, Agni is not just stomach acid. It is the biological fire that governs all transformation. There are 13 types of Agni operating in your body:

  • 01. Jatharagni: The central digestive fire in the stomach/gut.
  • 05 Bhutagnis: Elemental fires in the liver processing the 5 elements.
  • 07 Dhatvagnis: Tissue-specific fires transforming nutrients into plasma, blood, muscle, fat, bone, marrow, and reproduction.

"When Agni is balanced, life is long and healthy. When Agni is disturbed, metabolism fails."

The 8 Golden Rules of Diet

According to Charaka Samhita, *how* you eat is as important as *what* you eat.

1. Prakriti

Nature of Food

Is the food naturally heavy (like cheese) or light (like popcorn)? Choose based on your digestion.

2. Karana

Processing

Cooking transforms food. Raw rice is heavy; cooked rice is light. Fermentation changes properties.

3. Samyoga

Combination

Avoid incompatible foods (Viruddha Ahara), like milk with sour fruits or fish.

4. Rashi

Quantity

Eat only 2/3rds of your stomach capacity. Leave space for air and movement.

5. Desha

Place

Eat food grown locally. It aligns your biology with the local climate.

6. Kala

Time

Eat when Agni is strongest (noon). Respect seasonal variations (Ritucharya).

7. Upayogasamstha

Rules of Use

Eat warm food, chew properly, do not laugh or talk excessively while eating.

8. Upayokta

The User

Mindfulness. Eating according to your own constitution and current state.
